THE POOL

Our pool-goer settles into their favourite lounge chair, ready for a relaxing day. Someone walks past, setting up beside them, unfurling a yellow umbrella toward the sun.

Our pool-goer stares. The zoom begins. They keep staring. Awkwardly long. Looking up—

Cut to the umbrella. A familiar yellow. Still zooming.

Back to our pool-goer, squinting in thought, like they’ve recalled some forgotten memory.

*TWEEEET!*

A lifeguard blows their whistle, barking at a teenager to stop running.

Back to our pool-goer. They stare at the new commotion... Intently now, their eyes widening ever so slightly, like something has been set in motion that can’t be undone.

Cut back to the lifeguard. We’ve zoomed closer. Around their waist hangs a perfectly bent yellow rescue tube.

SPLASH!

Kids cannonball into the pool, spraying our pool-goer. They’re unfazed. They’ve locked onto something floating in the water.

They slowly stand, like a gunslinger preparing for a duel.

We cut, still zooming. Floating where the kids jumped... a lone yellow pool noodle.

Back to the Clint Eastwood eyes.

Back to the pool noodle when CUT — a match cut to the perfect noodle.
