PERFORMANCES

Grounded and affective performances is what is going to go far hear. With the way we are tackling coverage, we can try a range of reactions and expressions on the day to make sure we have options in post. With us leaning into closeups for our patients, every little detail will be front and centre, lending for depth in a subtle approach.

Speaking to our dialog — I think it’s important that we chose the lines that are interrupted carefully so they relate to what we are seeing on screen. Whenever we write interrupted dialog, we need to be able to let the actors know what the full line they are trying to say is, and what information from the doctor is being used to interrupted them.

It’s important that we help us establish where this is happening, who is in the scene, and the pattern that we are about to show people.

I know we will be working together on what our lines should be, but I think they should hit 3 points in theme.

Something that establishes where we are and who we are talking to.
Something where it’s clear they aren’t being allowed to finish
The line where they are allowed to finish — something where the beat we create for the transition is clear.
