Let’s talk about some scheduling. These scripts have really effective stories that pull a viewer in, but they also need to present a logistical solution-- we can stay in one place without a company move.
What I like about Wallet and Hot D’oeuvres is that they are both great scripts that I think could be shot in one setup each. I have also scripted wall decor in a similar way, hoping we can dress a corner of the bar to represent a corner of an apartment.
I think if we really commit to being efficient with our timing and not get too bogged down in alt takes on our other scripts, we might be able to tack on these two as bonus shots towards the end of the day.
This being a single day on a 12-hour shoot means we need to move fast. I want to find a location that puts us 90% of the way there in terms of set dec, lighting, and propping, so that we can spend our time getting footage, not prepping setups.
Based on a location that I am hoping to get, there is an empty lot beside it which we could effectively dress for our Coffee Table script, allowing us to remain in one place for the shoot day.
I know this is more producer speak than director brain, but I always find that getting ahead of logistics allows us to keep what we need to in scope so we can make the best spot possible.
