Speaking to this, I'd love to get on the same page regarding our choice of DP.
I'm lucky to be spoiled with talented cinematographers who also happen to be close friends.
For this project, I think we need someone with an instinct for composition—someone who can help craft the painterly, locked-off framing of our American world, while also bringing a wealth of experience in virtual production.
For delivery, my intention is to shoot large format in an open-gate 4:3 aspect ratio. It gives us an incredible image to create a bold aesthetic and a memorable "full format" presentation. When we talk about painterly imagery, or a "moving photobook," this is exactly what I have in mind.
What I also love about this approach is that it naturally lends itself to slightly wider, centre-weighted compositions, allowing us to protect for the various aspect ratios required across social deliveries without compromising the frame.
With this approach, 16:9, 4:3, 5:4, 9:16, and everything in between will look great.
